Fujikawaguchiko Auto Jamboree 2017
In the past few years, zokusha meets (bikes and cars) became more accepted in Japan. Thanks to smart plannings, those events are now viewed as cultural heritage and no more as gangster gathering. The Fujikawaguchiko Auto Jamboree, for instance, was organized by two of the most notorious bosozoku teams in Kanto area, Speckter and CRS, but also helped to raise founds for the protection of the Mount Fuji. 10 years ago, it would have been impossible for them bring together thousands of zoku bikes and cars like they did in Fujiten! Or at least not without dozens of Police cars joining the party! The two teams collaborated for the 4th year in a row and can now claim to be behind one of the biggest event of this kind in Japan!
This year, we joined our friends at Hello Special for 400km road trip between Kyoto and Fujiten Snow Resort!
It's midnight, The Butaketsu is loaded and we're ready to take off!
2 cars and 1 trailer... It can only mean 1 thing: We will have to drive the Skyline Japan!
The Hello Special Japan rocks massive Liberty Walk Works fenders.. No need to say she gets a lot of attention!
Summer nights are pretty hot and humid in Japan. Without AC, long trips like this are real challenges! Windows down all the way!
Both front and rear wheels are 12J wide. Over 100km/h, you'd better keeps both hands on the steering!
First stop for a quick coffee...
And second stop to get some rest and breakfast. The 86Special Japan is out of this world!
Gyudon to start the day!
Checking the weather to avoid driving in the rain...
Finally reach Shin-Fuji IC! Getting some gas before heading to Fujiten resort.
As we approach the venue, the weather gets better and Fuji-san reveals itself. What a view!
Booth set up, now time to walk around and get some shots!
Tsurikawas! Tsurikawas everywhere! <3
Bosozoku at heart, Kato-san from Liberty Walk wouldn't miss the Jamboree for anything in the world!
He's RX3 was the loudest and certainly the coolest machine of the event, hands down!
If you thought boso was a guy thing, think again!
Few months to wait until the next major Zokusha event (Osaka Kyusha Expo)! Stay tuned for more boso content! (^o^)/
