Kamu Kamu Festa
Fall is without a doubt the best season for kyusha (old cars) meets! And when the sun joins the party, like it did last week-end during the Kamu Kamu Festa, this is just paradise on Earth!
The Kamu Kamu Festa has been around for years already. The festival organized by the city of Tsu near Suzuka (Mie prefecture) brings families together to enjoy music and dance demonstrations as well as local food tasting. But you've guessed it, we didn't go just for the yakitori (chicken on stick) booth! Every year, oldies lovers from all over Japan also join the party to become the main attraction of the day! While not as famous as the Mikami Auto or Dual Factory events, the Kamu Kamu Classic Car Meet is very chilled and friendly. The matsuri atmosphere give a lot of extra charm!
The gates open a little before 10:00. Sit on the side of the road and enjoy the parade!
The access to the parking isn't really "shakotan friendly" but a little scrap never hurts anyone. Ok, well, it does. But it's just like a band-aid, the faster you get rid of it, the less it hurts!
After 11:00 the parking was already full! Which represents approximately 250 cars! The less lucky ones had to park outside... (T_T)
Beautiful 230 Gloria in mint condition! Check out the number plate (the part not masked...). The 2 numbers mean it's a "one owner". When car change hands, it usually gets a more recent plate and then has 3 numbers after the kanji.
There is a level of dedication keeping a Classic Car in this shape that only few people know.

Hakosuka, KenMeri, Japan... Is it ok to say "best part of the Skyline family"? (^_^)
The Kamu Kamu Classic Car meet is very "otonashi" (おとなしい). Meaning you mainly find mild, slightly altered oldies. Of course, you also have some zokusha, Kaido racers and other more crazy machines!
It is getting harder and harder to organize kyusha event in Japan now... Hopefully the Kamu Kamu Festa will still be able to welcome Classic Car lovers next year! Don't hesitate to leave a comment or questions! And please tell us what you want to see more! (^o^)/
