Stancenation in Aichi 2021
Stancenation Japan G Edition is probably the largest outdoor car event in Japan at the moment. Not many Kyusha or Zokusha but still a lot of cool cars to check and also a good excuse to have a booth, chat with friends and customers and share some Tsurikawa Love!
For this event in Nagoya we shared a booth with Garage Ill, a shop located near Osaka specialized in body work and Kei truck / van facelift body kits. Why? Because we did a thing and they helped us with it haha! More on that below!
It was a very windy day, but it was great to enjoy sunny and good weather before winter! We were really happy and blessed for the popularity of our tsurikawa! m(_ _)m The Nishijin Kyoto were all gone by the end of the day! Thank you!
It will be Halloween soon! Free candies!
Now you're probably wondering: "What is this little blue thingy?" (^_^) Well... Please welcome our new little Tsutsu van! So stocked to finally have car dedicated to the brand!
The base is a S320V Daihatsu Hijet Cargo with a facelift made by Garage Ill under the brand Jet GOGO. The front end is inspired by the older Daihatsu Atrai from the early 80s, a.k.a. Mayuge. In Japanese, Mayuge means "eyebrows". This nickname was given to the little car after the shape of its front winkers, shaped like eyebrows over the headlights.
Can't get enough of this cute face!
Inside, we wanted to keep a 80-90s vide with personal stuff and accessories we used in previous cars. The steering wheel is a old Renoma still in pretty good shape!
We used local fabric with Showa period inspired candies brand designs to make the seat covers, door panels and shifter boot.
Playboy magazine from 87. This one was sourced recently. We didn't keep our Playboy magazines from those years haha! Ok... Not all of them ^^
The original audio system is broken but we decided to keep it. A newer unit (under) helps during long road trips. The car is super slow and noisy... So you need music!
We use to offer this long Suichuuka shiftknob. Luckily we kept a few just in cases like this!
The rear part of the van is still under construction. But you can see we're it's going. We wanted it to look like the inside of a train, made special rails and hanged a bunch of original tsurikawa with various ring types and colors. The advertisement in the center is real one from train (from 2001)! You probably recognize Ryoko Hirosue on the Goo advert and...
...also Ayumi Hamasaki (OvO) on the Non-No advert!
The "tecchin" wheels are modifed / widen version of the original steel wheels. Of course there's also one of our vintage tsutsu hanging in the back! (*^_^*)
The car is not finished yet but we're getting close to what we had in mind when we first started! Please stay tuned! You'll be seeing more of it soon!
Garage Ill brought they latest demo car (Daihatsu Hijet with Jet GOGO facelift) made in collaborations with the Canadian apparel brand TBA. The dark English green x Gold is absolutely stunning!
Cherry on top: the vintage Volk Racing Type 370 wheels refurbished and sprayed in gold!
You can find more info on Garage Ill and Jet GOGO >here<
And don't hesitate to contact us if you have any requests!
Few random photos from the event... Sorry, it was a busy day and we couldn't shoot as much as we wanted. m(_ _)m
Please stay safe! <3
